My phonetic korean is terrible, but I’m pretty sure that the the word T-I-G-E-R isn’t in there. Which makes sense that animals would have their own korean names. I can tell you that american fast-food chains have the same (english) name in korean. but spelled with their alphabet.

I used to go there a lot for work. We are all surprised to find out they use an alphabet for their writing - we always thought it was picture writing, but it’s not! It was invented by their Emperor in like 1500. He wanted it to be easy to write so that people who weren’t scholars could write it.
