What are you listening to?

I’m kinda with you in terms of music made for dancefloors, stomp stomp (mostly, there are exceptions to that rule), but 42thefloor music for headphones, where the beat is the anchor for all that other intricate stuff around, is quite alright with me.

So is microhouse one of those genres where the name is completely nondescriptive?

not completely, as the micro in its name is clearly a reference to its minimalism and usage of very short samples.
