Recent Suzanne Ciani interview and performance
What a coincidence that just yesterday I read this article on diffusion on the Audialab website:
https://audialab.com/audio-diffusion/
I’d never thought before about how diffusion works.
Mother Nature’s Plantasia was a notable modular synth album by Mort Garson in 1976. Alex Ball and Anthony Marinelli have documented some of its history and the Moog modular used to create it
Amazing ! This could have been the right device to accompany @Luca-Feelgood 's Puffing Billy patch and the MachineRhythm challenge that went with it.
After watching the 1st question that came up in my mind was:
Can I run VCV Rack on this synth hardware?
(VCV Sound Stage is doing a version of this process, I think)
ETA: This video is the first I’ve heard of Wayverb, which I’m going to take a close look at. [ETA#2: never mind, it’s Mac-only and seems incomplete. Interesting approaches, though.]
This reverb sounds very rich and alive.
And it is open source.
The downside is: it runs on the GPU, so porting to a VCV module or to LV2 to run it on a Zynthian might not be possible.
so let’s play chess on an Ableton Push
It’s certainly an approach that is ancient (at least it was around when I was playing around with reverbs in the 90’s). But it they put everything together “right” and it sounds good, that’s pretty cool.
