Just in case you donât know, Hugh Padgham is the one who came up with gated reverb on drums, used initially on Peter Gabrielâs third solo album, and then used by Phil Collins on In The Air Tonight. And by millions more after that Padgham worked with XTC, Yes, David Bowie, Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Genesis, Kate Bush, etc, etc, etc

This is great, thank you for posting. Thomas relates how his Fairlight cost three times the price of his flat in London.
Quite a lot of things have got worse, more expensive and less accessible since then. Flats in London for sure. But not kit for making electronic music.
