So was this done with the aid of VCV Rack and electric guitar/bass? I would be interested in seeing the patch if it was. A very good cover version of the track!
Many a time I have walked home from gigs from Bradford in the early 80s from Bradford to Huddersfield 14 miles. God what was I thinking, back when I was into 2Tone groups.
Cheers, no that cover was just using hardware synths, Hydrasynth, Minilogue XD and TR-8S plus my Jazzmaster and some DAW and plugin effects.
I lived in Yorkshire for twelve years, four of them in Bra(t)ford so I know the area well. I’d still be living in York if work hadn’t dried up. I like to feel I still cared as much about music as I used to, but thinking back I can’t. I’d probably have sacrificed body parts to get into certain gigs and thought it was worth it.
I feel the same, is it just ‘old fogey talk’ but the music in my youth seemed so vibrant and all consuming but now I have to be in the right mood.
For example I bought a Courettes CD because I liked the fuzz guitar via YouTube videos, yet when I played the CD for the 1st time, it just didn’t move me!
Just contrariness or just got more moody, not sure.
Same with me when I saw Zappa in London in 1985. I went straight from the train to work for 6:30am and was 5 minutes late. The boss was not impressed until I told him I was still in London at 2am.
Actually I just checked to see if my memory was playing tricks and the last real milk train stopped running in 1981. I guess they just kept getting called that! All I know is they stopped at every damned stop, even the ones in the middle of fields with no-one for miles that no-one gets on or off at.
