A veritable synth god, a true legend! The YMO certainly had talented members just listening to this:

細野晴臣 (Haruomi Hosono) - 08 - 1984 - 花に水 (Watering the Flowers) [full album] - YouTube

Another minimalist beauty!!

A striking contrast of that dry piano and a voice soaked in reverb. Great voice, by the way.

Started listening to Jeremy Blake (Red means recording) https://soundvision.bandcamp.com/ Really enjoying this album

Best live act of all times (ok, along with GD)

For a while recently I was listening to a lot of Live GD recordings. Good stuff. Ever heard this?

Hah! Brown Eyed Woman is one of my fav GD tunes, and MF DOOM is one of my fav rappers, nice one!

Reminds me of this, which, if I’m being honest, is a better mashup imho :

mash ups can be quite a rabbit hole! I have to admit my taste in mashups is pretty traditional. I love the monkeys + iron maiden, and also shakira + danzig.

One familiar rite of passage for music listeners is the moment they first irked a parent enough to get them to tell them to “turn that bloody racket down” (or whatever your local language equivalent is).

For me this was due to a combination of acquiring some decent sized speakers and this single…

Been listening to a load of early Jesus and Mary Chain for the first time in ages and even did a (actually far tamer than the original) more electro style cover of it the other day…

Saw them at The Ritz in NYC. Late 80’s? Early 90’s? can’t quite remember.

only saw them once, at Hammersmith Palais with Sonic Youth supporting and they didn’t sound anywhere near as loud as on record, how could they? That said, MBV and Mogwai managed to get that sound live.

Because of train times as a teen who didn’t have a car going to see bands in Hammersmith was a lottery, if they overran then I’d miss the last train home and have to half sleep on a bench in Liverpool Street station waiting for the ‘milk train’ at some godforsaken time in the morning. And I’d put myself through that shit just to catch someone’s encores.
