Hi Bret,
I love your stuff from the first day on,
and you have released so many cool free modules,
imho we all should be thanksfull and not complain when we find some bugs.

I know you will fix them asap.

So thanks a lot and keep up the great work
:+1:

Thanks everyone. I feel like posting that might have been a bit awkward. I was just feeling a little bit overwhelmed. Thanks for your good vibes.

Your modules are innovative and often simply amazing, Bret! No worries about a few bugs that surface eventually. Keep up the good work and the positive spirit! Thank you for all your hard work.

Hi Bret,

Just picked up Tracks, fantastic to have this in VCVRack. The time-stretching is going to be very useful in creative ways to mangle background atmospherics. Thanks again for adding the envelopes as output signals too.

I have bought most of your modules and am really enjoying them. I am thinking about tracks. The one feature that would really make me get it is the possibility of changing play head direction and speed for each track.

Bret is the man, a complete mensch!

It is very easy to complain. It is much harder to create. Please keep creating, Bret!

Hi everyone! You guys are awesome.

Quick note on Groovebox Advanced. The new overlays are creating high CPU usage, even when they’re not being displayed. I should have a fix submitted to VCV Rack within the hour. :see_no_evil_monkey:

well said, creativity is the fuel for this rocket, do not stop now!!

I’ve submitted a bugfix version to VCV Rack. Until that patch rolls out, you’ll see some pretty high CPU numbers for the Groovebox Advanced. Help is on the way!

Late to the party (Did grab GBA just now, cool)

@clone45 Bret, i wanted to ask - pretty liked samples used in this demo video (sounds inside plugin i mean): https://youtu.be/JRsuH780VUk

Any tip of sample library name ? (Or it;s your own handmade collection perhaps ?)

Upd: those which besides main clap sound i mean

@octex912

It my own sample library! I haven’t shared it directly until now, but feel free to use it:

Groovebox Advanced Sound Pack:

Here’s how I made it: For the very basic kicks, snares, and hats, I used VCV rack, using multiple single-sample drum modules stacked and sent through filters and effects.

For the second half of the work, I used AI music and sound generators. So, for example, I generated a bunch of glitch music and cropped out individual sounds that I liked.

All of these sounds ship with Groovebox Advanced and should be safe for license free use.

Enjoy!

Hi Everyone!

I would love your feedback on an upgraded “Looper” module.

This is what it currently looks like:

Pretty simple.

For my own needs, I’m giving a significant update.

Prepare yourself for a very ugly looking prototype :see_no_evil_monkey: :

At the heart, it’s still the looper module. But it provides automatic BPM detection and rhythmic outputs.

Here’s what’s new so far:

  • The BPM of the loop is calculated on sample load. It’s actually pretty accurate, but obviously would fail on non-rhythmic audio.
  • It has a BPM knob, which is automatically set when a new sample is loaded. Right clicking the BPM knob shows two additional context menu items: Half and Double the value. This is useful when the BPM detection thinks that your 175 BPM is actually 87.5 BPM.
  • The BPM knob snaps to 0.5 increments.
  • There are BAR, BEAT, and 16th note trigger outputs. Good for syncing with external effects driving synchronized sequencers.
  • The NUDGE knob positions the BPM grid in case it doesn’t overlay correctly on your content.

I’d love to hear your ideas. I don’t want this module to grow into an “everything and the kitchen sink” module. It’s unlikely to become the next Autobreak. But I have plenty of open space on the panel to add additional widgets.

Oh, and this will be free. It’s just an upgrade to the existing looper module. The replacement should be backwards compatible (for anyone using the current version).

While I like the waveform visualization, I notice that it takes up a lot of space and therefore would like to ask whether it actually has a critical function other than display. I would not want to miss it entirely, but if it functions only as visualization, what do you think of the idea of rotating it by 90 degrees. This might shrink the module to a quarter of its size or so, while still getting a sense of the sample loaded.

Well…. I think it’s a brilliant idea! Ha ha ha. Why didn’t I think of that??? Holy :poop:. Consider it done.

This sounds amazing! One of my favorite of your creations to date. I have something amazing to send you relatively soon that I think you’re going to love. Is that the Circuit Bender on vocals? :man_bowing::man_bowing::man_bowing::face_holding_back_tears:
