Thank you! I’ll post a screenshot of the patch later if there’s interest. It’s just Patchseq→Unfiltered Audio Haze (not yet released)→Chronoblob (modulated partially by Vult Caudal)→Unfiltered Audio lo-fi-af. Each track is me generating a new random Rhythmic scene in Patchseq and then reacting to it. It’s pretty low-stakes, but it was a fun performance so I posted it for free.
EDIT: I was wrong. Patchseq runs into the 4ms Spatializer, which feeds Chronoblob before Haze.
Yes, that’s true. The pattern generation controls aren’t very conducive to acid bass lines. It’s a bit better at early Autechre or Nils Frahm.
The arpeggiator does have a few baseline patterns, but they are not a replacement for a 303 style sequencer.
If there’s enough demand, I could create a separate module that provides a more typical control system (cv/gate input), with no quantizer, effects, internal clock, or pattern generators? It would be just the waveforms, v/Oct, gate input, sub oscillator, vca and filter decay, filter, cutoff, accent, and glide controls? Kind of “bring your own sequencer”? But I think that already exists, here: The Acid Kit: new modules for the Rack x0x crowd!
Another option is to find the arp_patterns.json file in the voxglitch devices resource folder, under the “data” sub-folder. You could hack in your own library of 303 style patterns to replace the existing arpeggios.
One thing that I could do is update the documentation with a visual representation of all the “factory” arpeggios. In fact, let me see if I can get that done right now.
Please do create the seperate cv/gate input module and as the others requested we also want a cv/gate output in theory also. And of course remember the right click menu drive effect variants. Then we’re set.
Wanted to question about Spores granulator: by some reason can’t hear difference of increasing Count (amount of voices) knob during low Size knob value. (See screen as example)
I mean, there is no difference with voices amount more than 2, is this normally with such setting ? Whether does not should voices adding reproduce in form of some increasing of density\loud ? Regardless of granula size i mean. Or i’m not exactly figured this feature.
Density: How quickly the grain “machine gun” is firing
Count: A limit on the number of grains that can be active at a time
What might be happening is that, with a low value for width, the count limit is never reached. All of the grains complete their playback before any throttling would occur.
(BTW regarding my old question about lack of builtin scan ie playback position knob - i tried to constant module to index input - really this is it, works good lol)
Hey everyone! Since there’s obvious demand for more explicit control over the Centralics, I’m working on adding two new “overrides” for v/octave and gate. (This is a rough image preview, not the final design, so the positioning and fonts are off.) By default, the V/OCT signal will be routed through the quantizer, but I’m adding an option in the context menu for bypassing the quantizer. The quantizer bypass will also be available when the user is not overriding these features.
I’ll likely have a demo video done later this afternoon.
Yeah, and I’m just getting used to having money, I make about 400 usd a month after bills and I’m trying to save as much as possible to eventually move out on my own and get a leap forward in life… I chose VCV over hardware modular and I’ve basically built up a nice library of premium modules I’ve gotten from Black Friday and won’t need to buy much more this year, other than the new modules from here I still haven’t gotten but it’ll at least mean by the time I can give my support they’ll be more stable and ready for major release
In my case, 550 euros (approx. USD 650) a month before bills…
As I always say: as long as I’m in good health condition, have a “roof over my head”, have food, proper clothes, tobacco, a lot of coffee*, electricity at home (appartment, energy is very very expensive in France, it’s a shame), my working Windows 10 PC, internet (very fast FTTH, 100GB download takes 4 minutes only), so be sure I’m happy! (and I never complaint, anyway!).
*Coffee machine I’m using is a 10-year old Philips Senseo:
I’ve sold my (very small) Eurorack hardware, sacrifice due to need money two years ago…
I’ve discovered VCV Rack at the beginning, version 0.6 if I remember… I’ve started quickly to develop freeware (open source) modules, but at this epoch I was newbie about C++ (by chance, have very long experience - more than 25 years - about Delphi/Pascal programming, so migrating to C++ wasn’t too difficult, to be honest).
@shawnbortree19@Ohmer
My salary the same as yours guys (400-500), but i already bought almost all modules in vcv library lol. I’m willing to wear old pants and torn shoes (in fact sometimes mistaken for a homeless), but I can’t not to buy the plugins which I want (Ok and tobacco too)
Have bought some VCV Rack modules (many brands), but have bought a lot of softwares such DAWs (Reaper 7, Bitwig Studio 5, Renoise 3.x) and a lot of commercial plugins such u-he DIVA, Synapse DUNE 2/DUNE 3 and The Legend, Oddity 2, OP-X PRO-II/PRO-3, discoDSP Discovery Pro, RAPID Synth, VPS Avenger, Scaler 2, Orb Producer Suite 3, Chromaphone 3, SynthMaster 2, many Cherry Audio synths, SynthEdit 1.4 (a big piece of sh1t), N.I. Analog Dream bank, Synthesia… since 2013. Also hardwares such second-hand Digital Fame KX61C, then M-Audio CODE61, then Komplete Kontrol S61 MkII keyboards, Arturia BeatStep Pro MIDI controller, Yamaha/Steinberg ASIO audio interface, pair of M-Audio BX5-D2 studio monitors (+desktop supports), and so on… (list is too long).
Yeah that why am always been afraid about lack of compatibility current modules with someday released VCV v3 lol
I hope vcv\dev guys will managed out something for that not could be the same situation as with 1>2 transition, wen each dev was forced to rewrite plugs for user was able to run it at v2. Would be an incredible pity to lose such a collection acquired through backbreaking labor .
I’ve got a vision disorder that prevents me from driving so I don’t have to pay for anything car related, not that it means money for monsters, just more to save and allocate to other things later in life
Can you remember when this 0.6 version was available? I very well could have stumbled upon this much earlier at least since the beginning of 2019 when my MacBook was new, I wouldn’t discover it till the VCV 2 upgrade but a similar iOS app was my introduction earlier in that year
