=== very cool patch challenge, edition 40 ===

very cool ! i like all these effects and little noises ^^ will try to play with your patch a bit later

Ah. Right.
Thanks! I totally missed that.

Regards,
Hans

I am painfully aware of the high CPU usage and have been busy with a new version which will address this problem. Unfortunately wasn’t ready in time.

My apologies to all those who are having problems, I really look forward to see what people are able to do this.

cheers,

john

Hi,

I’d be curious to know how you get on with this. The alternate tuning capabilities have lots of possibilities and I think that what the current modules current provides is just scratching the surface.

cheers,

john

Fun :slightly_smiling_face: Bravo, Aria

Here’s my entry to the challenge,

I fed prism with colors create and ambient wash to build on.

Put your headphones on and escape to remote, windswept places for a while.

my little experiment… done in an haze and quickly. i liked the atmospheric vibe that prism added.
everything started as a “spin of” when i played with the Patch and Tweak patches (P.115_Complex oscillators)

Belle recherche sonore :slightly_smiling_face:

My contribution to the Very Cool Patch Challenge 40, this time more than on time. But it just flowed. We were supposed to use the Rainbow module from Prism / Amalgamated Harmonics and of course I used all of the developer’s modules again, a lot for the first time, but certainly not for the last time. I did not want to take the effort to create my own scale, so I did not use Spectrum. :metal::sunglasses:

I’m working through this and it’s very useful.

It’s really an amazing module. Not so hard to understand but really tricky to master. I also have an old laptop witch was quite high en in 2012. But this module don’t allow me to use many other modules in the patch. I’m really glad you try to optimize its CPU usage. Anyway! You made a great job with it. And the pyers design is awesome.

VCP-40 - Rainbow by Prism - - Shadowrunner

Hello Rackerz

I found this weeks entry hard to manage. At least part of the problem would be my rudimentary understanding of limiting and other sound design ideas. At first I had a very screachy or very quiet patch but then I got carried away with limiters, something I’ve barely used before now.
the basic idea of the patch, use the new Squinky labs sequencer to control Basal and then plug it into effects, was something i was already toying with. The idea would be to have the same notes but with varied sonic environment. Then this VCP came up and I just plugged Basal straight into it. How you control your filters and effects to achieve movement is obviously the key to this but I really didn’t apply any compositional principles or ideas, I just plugged sequencer things into patchpoints and the results are above.

Hi, here’s my contribution. Injecting a “home made” Karplus Strong voice into “Rainbow”. That’s fun! Enjoy and nice listening.

Here’s the patch: Strong Bow.vcv (40.4 KB) Cheers. I heared some great stuff around here. DeniSound’s music corner

My entry to VCP-40

The Prism Rainbow is fed by the Energy VCO, and modulated by Stages and Octasource.
There’s a piano like voice from the FM-OP VCO with heavy use of delay through Chronoblob2.
Both voices are sequenced by Entropia and the Addr-Seq provides transposing for Energy.
The bass drone is provided by the Saws VCO through the Stairway filter, and there’s a noise based percussive voice sequenced by uGraph.

The Rainbow is a difficult beast to tame. To say that I understand it would be the overstatement of the year
