Hi,
Since I am a big fan and composer of microtonal music I was very excited to read the manual and seeing the option to load Scala files. So I decided to participate for the first time in the vcp edition 40.
But I can’t find this option in the context menu.
Whatever I try - I don’t see the options to load and apply Scala files.
Am I missing something?

Regards,
Hans

I think you need the Spectrum Expander :

Those challenges are a neat way to learn more about all the available tools.

Rainbow has very high CPU usage for me, so I didn’t really dive in deep and used it close to the defaults as a glorified sequencer to make some rock ‘n’ roll. I threw in a second device with a spinning rainbow for good measure.

The song requires MIDI keyboard input. Each note received randomizes many parameters, and sings another line. Higher notes make the song faster.

here’s the patch: https://patchstorage.com/rainbow-cookies/

very cool ! i like all these effects and little noises ^^ will try to play with your patch a bit later

Ah. Right.
Thanks! I totally missed that.

Regards,
Hans

I am painfully aware of the high CPU usage and have been busy with a new version which will address this problem. Unfortunately wasn’t ready in time.

My apologies to all those who are having problems, I really look forward to see what people are able to do this.

cheers,

john

Hi,

I’d be curious to know how you get on with this. The alternate tuning capabilities have lots of possibilities and I think that what the current modules current provides is just scratching the surface.

cheers,

john

Fun :slightly_smiling_face: Bravo, Aria

Here’s my entry to the challenge,

I fed prism with colors create and ambient wash to build on.

Put your headphones on and escape to remote, windswept places for a while.

my little experiment… done in an haze and quickly. i liked the atmospheric vibe that prism added.
everything started as a “spin of” when i played with the Patch and Tweak patches (P.115_Complex oscillators)

Belle recherche sonore :slightly_smiling_face:

My contribution to the Very Cool Patch Challenge 40, this time more than on time. But it just flowed. We were supposed to use the Rainbow module from Prism / Amalgamated Harmonics and of course I used all of the developer’s modules again, a lot for the first time, but certainly not for the last time. I did not want to take the effort to create my own scale, so I did not use Spectrum. :metal::sunglasses:
