Ok let’s try this :
1 Close Rack
2 Go here and turn of -Free (make the button blue) https://vcvrack.com/plugins.html#stoe
3 Go here scroll down and load the latest for your OS
(click the assets button if no zips are showing) https://github.com/stoermelder/vcvrack-packone/releases/tag/Nightly
4 Put the zip in your Documents\Rack\plugins-v1 folder
5 Start Rack
6 open module browser and be amazed
Solved! I had looked for something overwriting it a bit before quitting for the evening yesterday but it was under ‘PackOne’ and I missed it haha. Thanks everyone!
new problem. the audio 64 works now pretty fine. but! i would need two of them running. - i have an RME-MADIface (64 outs) AND an RME DIGIface (4 x ADAT on USB to feed my 4 Expert sleepers ES-3) the problem is - my CV outs now are 1 - 32 on the MADIface and 65 - 97 on the ADATS. Both interfaces are put together in an aggregated device.
any ideas?
I guess when you say „aggregated device“ you are on Mac? It is very little work to create an AUDIO-128 if that helps, I just need to do a panel for it… but, I won’t advertise these modules much because for me they are a workarounds until a better solution is available, natively in Rack or by some sort of expander-solution which would need a complete rewrite of the AUDIO-modules.
jep. im on mac. im also on linux with alsa (jack) but there i only have 64 outs. so it works there … the 128 would be nice - even if i know, that this is only a workaround and a hughe waste of power - to permanent map all of the 128 outs …
and YES! the audio-engine of vcv should really be rewritten … YES!!!
Already done:
I’m using Blackhole to route vcv to Reaper (or other DAW). I can use multiple audio 16 modules and set them up as groups of 16 channels for live or recording work. It seems to work fine.
Unrelated entirely, but holy hell thats a gorgeous setup… May I ask how much that cost (ballpark) and how long it took to set up?
I have a need for more than 16 in/out Still buying modules, but I am using my RME MADi FX for mixing/routing between vcos’/vcf’s etc and software modulation for envelopes/lfo’s/sequencing etc. This allows for total recall of patches… (well it would support recall if VCV rack supported program change and banks/presets, at the moment i am using VAZ modular and some reaktor)
you can use multiple instances of the VCV “Audio 16” module, I can’t remember if it automatically continues the channels on the second module, or if you need to setup an aggregate device first, but it works. i too would love a clean solution (a larger audio module with more channels) but it works if you use multiple instances of the module.
As for presets, I use Stoermelder’s “8 Face mk2” module with the expanders to create presets for my entire VCV rack patch and it works really well. Give it a try.
It would be nice if the 8face module had a feature where in one click you can map every single module to it, instead of tediously clicking each one by one. But it works great
I would settle for a ‘click and drag’ selection method, but yeah it works very well for presets.
click and drag sounds even better
