Introducing MindMeld PatchMaster! (and RouteMasters)

Ah, you saw that the source code was updated, excellent  This will be in the next update.

Avec plaisir Dom!

In fact, no! I’ve seen a new (2 days ago) release, so I’ve tried… “blindly” :grinning: Feature was made quickly, bravo!

ah yes, it did indeed make it into our last builds in github, forgot about that!

If onLy the library UI were more intuitive……

Patch master is really great, thanks to all involved!

I came across a potential use case in a patch (if implemented) that I think might be useful to others as well. Would it be possible to add a knob variation with stepped values? I’m not sure how you would define the amount of steps or CV values on the user side, but I could imagine something in a sub menu.

If the mapped control has snapped (stepped) values, then those snapped values are already reported back properly to PM and displayed.

Or are you wanting to constrain rotation positions on the PM knob, which in turn constrains the values on all mapped controls? So for example, you might have a PM knob that is constrained to 11 equally spaced stepped values, and it is mapped to a remote attenuation knob that ranges freely from 0 to 10. Then PM would always set integral values from 1 to 10.

I can see how that could be useful.

Yes, the latter is example is exactly what I’m imagining! Even better if the user could define the overall range of modulation and how many ‘steps’ that range is divided into.

That would be cool. A springback knob (like a pitch wheel) would also be handy. I’m not sure if there is such a thing in Rack. But PatchMaster has opened up so many options already. Really cool stuff.

This can be done with Tact, Tact-1 and Tact-G by Impromptu.

Oh cool, I use the tact modules (for fades and such) but have never seen that functionality. I’m probably using them wrong.

Look for “autoreturn” in the modules’ menus.

Awesome, Thank you

The updated MindMeld plugin which includes PatchMaster has now been sent off to VCV so hopefully it will appear in the library fairly soon.

Firstly, those involved in the development of these tools, wow thank you, you rock!

I think this has been talked about in the thread before, but I would love to have a rocker switch that could be assigned as 2 switches in one space. Not for space saving, but just so when I use routemaster as a switch and connect a stream of cv to one channel and nothing to another, I can get the effect of an on/off switch and not two related radio switches, where one is actually a deadhead switch. Sorry for the run on sentences.

Thought of another small feature request that might be useful to some - the ability to hide the mapping squares (Stoermelder’s CV Map has a similar feature). Nice to keep things looking clean.

Btw, Is this the best place for feature requests?

All good, I took note of it, we won’t promise anything, but it might get done in the next update.

Cheers, great to know!

Seems latest build still has EQMaster and BassMaster having stuck high level indicators. MixMaster is fixed.

I can’t reproduce this, and in those modules only the svgs were changed, so I’m at a loss to see what could explain the behavior you are seeing. Can you send me a minimal patch showing the problem please?

ugh, I was staring at them in one patch yesterday for quite a while, but this morning they seem to reset as they should. Hmm, another one that seemingly vanished overnight o_O. Weird indeed
