If you are using MidJourney I definitely recommend using images as part of your prompt, they can be really effective at describing something that you cant put into words
Here are some nice results for the prompt: https://s.mj.run/VLvsUn2Oukw mystic portal to infinity, gateway, gothic architecture, at dawn --iw 1.5 --ar 9:16
So I was playing with russian AI and my friend said that something looks like “The lost Weather Report album”. I used this prompt on DALL-E mini and got this:
It is true that using images immediately brings richness to the generation. However, it is quite unpredictable. You’d think that it would have some effect on the colours, but look at the 5th source image, which is totally cold and rocky, while the result is very warm and woody.
We can even make a little game out of it
Find the sources of the different generations.
Well it’s not too difficult, as I left the images in order.
The first generation is without any image.
The first source image is the one used by dan. I also used the same seed as dan’s for all generations
those images above are a single upscale, you can do a 2nd upscale after that, but the final rez depends on the aspect ratio, at 4:5 i think the max rez is 1408x1792
currently mid journey is only stills, but they do have office hours sessions on the discord where users can ask questions and hear about new features being planned, i would imagine that video is probably on the timeline somewhere
edit: oh also, i forgot that instead of aspect ratio you can specify the specific height and width, so perhaps you can increase the max rez using those params
I did some tests with an upscaled (single time) image, where I upscaled that image to 3000x3000px, 300 dpi using On1 Photo Raw’s new AI powered resize module and the results were really good. I posted the examples earlier in this thread.
Speaking of using images to guide the image creation, I’ve been using Wombo’s Dream app (which is, I believe, far less sophisticated than most of the alternatives mentioned in this thread) to make portraits of me by guiding it with a simple monochrome picture of me.
MidJourney is now in open beta so anyone can get in on the fun, here is the invite link: Midjourney go create loads of AI synths and show us your best…
