Hi everyone, I remember when I was first learning VCV rack (and modular in general … (before I had anything in Eurorack) 5 or 6 years ago? My favorite tutorials were the videos put on a Youtube channel “The Art of Sound”. from a bloke from the British Isles. He only referred to himself asl “Nigel”. I could never find out more than that. I was reminiscing on the history of VCV and I remembered how much I got out his little Youtube Blog “Talking Rackheads” Sort of a tutorial like newsletter… This prompted me to look it up and see if anything ever came out since it was last posted somewhere around 2019. Nothing! not a peep! Does anyone know what ever happened to him? Did he just quit the hobby altogether? Is he no longer with us? Playing with sound on the Astral plane? reply if anyone has any news on this guy?
Wow, Was this posted in July of this year? 2024? I’m glad to see I am not the only one inquiring. Nigel’s videos were very impactful to me! He had what I considered to be among the best VCV tutorials out there… On a par with Omri Cohen’s stuff … And from what I heard of his stuff, he was a fine musician! So I was very sad to see that nothing new had been posted to his youTube channel for several years… , Not even a farewell! I am hopeful to hear he is still ticking around… somewhere, but I fear he may no longer be with us.
By pure coincidence, I happened to remember “Talking Rackheads” a few days ago, and took a look to see if there was anything new. Sorry to hear about health issues, wishing all the best for Nigel.
Unfortunately Nigel passed away around 2020 in Highlands, NC
He was a great friend and consultant to my mother and step father. He will be missed
