Was listening to the great Blue Nile track Downtown Lights and trying to learn how to play it/sequence it. It’s more complicated than I first thought, mainly down to the chord voicings and the interplay with the bass notes. The snare sound on this track is just beautiful.

My God, this is so damn cool! Saw the movie yesterday, it’s a crazy experience, and the score is a big part of it.

Diverging from pink floyd, Joy division, the angels of light / Michael Gira etc. in the more accessible music.

In the more difficult genre:

  • Haus Arafna
  • Current 93
  • Nurse with Wound
  • Anenzephalia
  • the (Law-Rah) Collective
  • Coil
  • Lots of noise and power electronics.
