Will the Groovebox Advance sub-modules be available also in the PatchSeq?
I haven’t done that yet, but I’ll look into it. I could see it benefiting from some of the new effects.
Hello everyone! The new Effects Bank module is now available for purchase. ![]()
In short,
- It’s a realtime effects processor with 58 editable presets
- Presets are constructed by stacking up to 6 effects in series. There are nearly 60 core effects to choose from.
- An internal modulation system offers a lot of options.
I did my best to test carefully, and I apologize if you find any bugs. If you do find any issues, I’ll try to address them as quickly as possible.
Yes, there’s a full YouTube tutorial!
Here’s the written user manual, which should be accurate, but may be missing some of the newer core effects:
WHOA GRRRRRR!!! This caught me by surprise I just have been waiting for the Battalion modules to come and now this big effect comes!? Good to hear the tutorial but I might save it for November cause I’m not ready for such a surprise! Keep up the good work, hopefully I’ll keep checking this forum to not be caught off guard by more raiders coming!
Ok!! I will admit that this is a very brief and confusing demo.
It shows the upcoming "Nori” module (on the right), and the “Nori PE” (Nori Patch Editor) on the left. The Nori module can work without the patch editor. There will be 16 patch slots which ship with editable presets. At least… that’s the plan. This is a super early build, but I wanted to share because I’m super excited about it!
- Top left: Patch selection knob
- Three knob/attenuverter/input pars: Parameters that route into the patch
- Bottom inputs: V/Oct, Gate, Clock
- Bottom right: Left/Right output
Just to clarify, you can use it stand-alone, but the expansion module allows you to edit any of the 16 presets, save them, load them, share them, etc. I’m unsure how the polyphonic support will work, but I’ll figure it out as I go.
If you have questions, it’s likely that I do not have answers yet. I’m figuring it out as I go.
And this is why I have to keep checking up here for news… will this be another premium module?
Humm… interesting… ![]()
As usual Bret, don’t hesistate in case you’ll need beta-test on Windows platform (I’m using Windows 10 Pro 22H2).
Yes, likely in the $20 range. I usually price my models based on how long they take to complete. The Effects Bank took about 5 weeks to develop and document. This one might require around 3 weeks or work. It will have a unique graphic design and 16 editable presets which add a bit of work.
My best guess at a launch date would be late June or early July.
Good thing I just became aware of its existence now, I just have to keep checking here to see how development is going and then it might be something I’ll pick up in November
VoxGlitch Effects Bank is wildly good. Thanks for the fun design. It is very performable.
Love these spectral effects, and actually having only 3 controls makes exploring them simple and quick.
I am curious about any updates to the new sampler with “sideways” view.
That’s an update to my “looper” module, and I’ll try to get it released soon. I was trying my best to give it some BPM aware super-powers, but inevitably failed. I’m so glad you like the effects bank!!! The spectral effects are new to me. I’m still building an intuition for how spectral effects should sound. The idea of breaking down sounds into sin waves, then reconstructing them is fascinating.
If I haven’t mentioned in before, thanks for all of your support and enthusiasm.
I appreciate it.
Yes FFT based effects definitely sound different, like a different front in the granular game. Your choices sound great, and have to mention Tonalizer too just great stuff!! I am enthusiastic because I see such a fun style and unique modules. Effects Bank has really pushed my spot fx game to a new level.
timing is a beetch. But if you can move the start and end points with cv and “scan” with a phasor, talented patchers should be able to do anything.
I know, right!? I love that effect!
Now I’m intrigued, spectral effects draw me in like a moth to a light, but I know I can hold back till November… I wasn’t planning to hear the video demo till closer to my purchase but if there’s a demo of what these spectral effects are and what they do I should be fully aware ahead of time!
Hi everyone. Keeping this lowkey… voxglitch.com is live.
It’s probably full of bugs. The knob designer app is worth checking out (VoxGlitch - Modules for VCV Rack)
Nice Bret, this is fun. I look forward to the apps section looks a real blast.
Knob designer? Is this a new developer tool for module creation? All we need is the range knobber made and the module it goes to, the puzzle will be solved soon! I’ll check the page tomorrow morning…
Quick note on voxglitch.com,
