Will be tricky to share the patches with samples…

I had a go with ghosts and I couldn’t really tell what the sample was anyway.

if you use one from freesound (or another online one), you can link to it

I recorded four notes of A-7 with a spanish guitar for the sample. You can put whatever you want.

VCP-49 Ghost Tails

An interesting module for drones but I am still not sure that I have got to grips with the module’s possibilities,

I haven’t included the patch as there is no sound without the samples and because I kept changing samples and there doesn’t seem any way of getting the titles after you have added them, I cannot remember which I ended up using (most are taken from my Neutron / Theremin / SH-101 experiments).

This, I guess, is what the word whimsical is for.

The sample is just a few seconds of the bottom right FM-OP doing its thing. Would be nice if Ghosts had a way to let you know what sample you’re currently playing.

I’m really going to have to make some of my own samples if i want to enter this challenge…

Very nice

Really nice. Has a feel of looped Musique Concrete. Really like it

Very cinematic. Great atmosphere. Great use of 3D space.

Hi, Here’s my contribution to this challenge. As food for Ghosts, I choosed some trumpet notes I recorded myself. There are some patch notes in the video descriptions. I never really explored granular processes and synthesis before setting this patch… Nad yes! this is fun! Darius is the other featuring of this patch. Thank you @Aria_Salvatrice and @clone45, and @VCVRackIdeas for his tuto on ghosts. I hope you’ll enjoy. It’s maybe a bit less musical than ususal for me, but I had still fun messing whith those funny tools.

The patch:Graines de trompette.vcv (58.2 KB)

The samples

Cheers. Have a nice one!

On the newer version of Ghosts, the sample names will appear in the context menu. I’ll try to get a new version built for release soon!

Here is my contribution to VCP-49: for this edition, the challenge is to make a patch with Voxglitch Ghosts

The Sounds of Helsinki Metro

I recorded the sounds of my trip home one evening, with an app that is some sort of granular already. Tweaked the sounds in app, imported to VCV Ghosts and this came out. Really got interested in using recordings/samples/loops in VCV, Ghost is just not the one for the purpose I have in mind. Ghost makes cool drones, really nice and I did not feel it was that hard to find the sweet spot either, but also it easily does really crazy stuff :skull:

All sounds from my samples except for the occasional filter self-resonating and one of the “bells” going through the whole composition, which is from an Audible Instruments oscillator.

You can find the patch here:

And the four samples I made here:

(dropbox samples will most likely be erased by 03/2020)

An ambient patch, contribution to Very Cool Challenge #49 on VCV Rack.

Bonne Ă©coute :slightly_smiling_face:

Patch : https://patchstorage.com/destiny-remix/

A sample (1), read by Complex Simpler from Nysthi, goes into Ghost from voxglitch ans also to texture synthesizer from Audible. Bass quantized 2 notes. Parameters are modulated by S/H from Bogaudio, Caudal from Vult, ADSR & LFO from VCV. Mix on Minmeld mixer. Reverb Plateau from Valley

Very nice! Your explanation is a bit confusing though. As I see in your patch you loaded the same sample in the Nisthy sampler and in Ghosts! The sampler is not patched into Ghosts, since there’s no audio input on this module. Anyway, the result is great. Bravo Marc.

Great Idea! The result is awesome. Lovely sequence too! I could have listen to it a bit more… Did you use the “Graunstorm” app? I do have this and man! This is terrific.
