you are challenged to make a patch in vcv rack to showcase a particular module in a creative way, so other users may get inspired. you can also win eternal fame!
this time you are to use all three modules from mosquito labs
== rules ==
• make a patch in vcv rack using the chosen module and upload your patch to https://patchstorage.com/ and/or in your reply to this thread
• tag your upload with vcp-38
• you are encouraged to only use free modules in the patch, but this is not required
• make a video showcasing your patch and upload it to youtube
• add a link to your video as a comment to this post (these videos will be collected in a playlist)
• give feedback on other participants’ patches
deadline: monday end of the day, wherever you are, september 2nd
(though late entries will still be added to the playlist)
a new challenge with a different module will be announced every other tuesday.
All 3 of these vco’s really sound great. This should be a good one!
Here’s my entry for the challenge.
I like noise and atmosphere so used some the oscillators feeding into each other to generate a background wall of noisy chaos. The sine wave chords that ebb in an out are overlaid at times with some harsher noise to create contrast and tension. There is also a random lead sound to soften things down again.
Hi tout le monde,
my little contribution… Bonne écoute
Made sort of a spooky video game sounding patch for this one. Enjoy!
here is my entry, a kind of ambient self-generative patch
the patch: VCP-38_rsmus7.vcv (101.8 KB)
Really nice piece Marc! But too short… hope for more next time.
I really appreciate, Lars. Thank you
This is my first VCP, and first ambient patch! Ended up a bit of a mess, but came out alright I think. Feedback always welcome
This was too ambitious. The idea was to explore oscTouch possibilities and interactions between my trumpet and those mosquito stuff through the unique pitch and envelope follower (Entrian). Too much for my computer. I tried to record it, but it said : “no way!”
Sorry for that.
Let me know if you want me to share the patch, the osc file and the MIDICAT preset.
There is some great stuff out there!
VCP-38 The Oram Quorum
A tribute to Daphne Oram.
I like the flexibility of these Czar oscillators, especially the ability to alter the overtones independently of the fundamental.
And a thank you to Hagan @KlirrFactory for telling me how to alter the clock multiplier to choose any one of five diversions.
VCP-38 CZAR The Oram Quorum.vcv (80.7 KB)
I revisited my first patch
and did a new recording with some changes to the patch,
it is still a generative ambient piece:
the new patch is here:
VCP-38_rsmus7_V2.vcv (101.4 KB)
Hi my dear Rackerz
Today I present my two participation for VCP-38
“Time extruder” and “No scopes was killed”. I have a lots of fun with these Mosquito Labs modules.
VCP-38 Time extruder
vcp-38 Time extruder.vcv (66.8 KB)
VCP-38 No scopes was killed
VCP-38 No scopes was killed.vcv (55.5 KB)
hi vcv friends, here’s some noisey drone. i have been reading about Rob Hordijk’s benjolin circuit, and tried to make this feedback network that is plyyable, some nice noodlin’ about 2/3rds in… https://youtu.be/JHI4y17hBqY
here’s the patch VCP-38_tuliphorn_catch-aWave.vcv
the Benjolin is really an interesting concept, well done
