VCV and binaural (headphone recommended)

I’ve built this device (dispositif) with the binaural function of Logic Lro X (very simple). Do you have an example on VCV Rack ?

(I’ve found a video of loopop with a Omri Cohen’s complex patch, with Quadpanner from Nysthi, that I don’t understand https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1dwjiT4vEQ&t=1165s). Sorry for my english :slightly_smiling_face:

Are you interested in binaural - spatial effects using two speakers (headphones), or multichannel sounds? And with multichannel, are you after quadraphonic (front left, front right, rear left, rear right) or 5.0 or 5.1 or 7.0…

The Logic Pro example is binaural (you can use the free VST from Sennheiser for something similar https://en-de.sennheiser.com/ambeo-orbit). Omri’s patch is using four output channels on his output device.

I output to an Onkyo AV Receiver, set to 6 output channels - FL, FR, Centre, Subwoofer, RL, RR.

We had some discussions about this on FaceBook about a year ago. The main issue with multichannel tracks is that there is little direct support for them on social media and music platforms. And a quad system has four of the same speakers, whereas home theatres tend to have different front/rear/centre speakers. So it gets a bit more complicated in getting your track to be played in the correct environment.

I have a 5.0 track at the bottom of the following web page, which might play in your browser if you have a surround sound system. There’s an image of the patch there too.
