I uninstalled and reinstalled VCV and still it hangs on launch. I appreciate your sage guidance in helping me get this awesome tool/toy back up and running on my laptop.
Background:
VCV was working very well up until I added a 2nd monitor.
Windows 11/Lenovo Thinkpad Core i5 7thGen

Is it the same, when you remove the second monitor again (just for testing this)?
Did you delete everything in the Rack2 folder when you uninstalled it?

Thanks for your kind attention.
After removing the new monitor and uninstalling and removing VCV…
…I reinstalled VCV and it still hangs. Maybe the monitor is not the problem.
VCV was working well on this laptop and I was just starting to cobble together some fun noise-makers!

Did you remove all the files (and folders) from the Rack2\autosave folder ?
There were some reports earlier.
try pressing “Windows + D” a couple of times.
I love this program but it’s buggy. I plugged in my large external monitor to my laptop while running Rack 2 (obviously a mistake). The program of course crashed. When I rebooted, I could hear the patch playing, and icon showed on Taskbar but there was no user interface on any display. I disconnected external monitor, nothing. I uninstalled Rack 2, reinstalled, and it seemed to take up where the last install left off. Nothing on display but the last played files could be seen when I right clicke…
If that doesn’t help, check window size and position in settings.json
I have already reached out to the VCV support team but it might be interesting for other users. Until today I had no problems with running RACK2. Whenever I try to start RACK2, it will not show any visual or window, yet play audio correctly. In debug mode the visuals work as normal. Even after some troubleshooting (restart, reinstall, checking files and registry), the problem persists.
