Rack 2, Rack for DAW, multiple audio interfaces, Windows, combined?

Hi.

The combination of these different items on the rack 2.0 dev forum sounds like an absolute dream come true, so I just wanted to check if they will also be true in combination:

Will I be able to use VCV as a vst within my DAW, and then use one (main, audio out) soundcard for my DAW, and a second (dc-coupled, cv-out/in) soundcard from the rack vst, while Rack and the DAW exchange midi and sound without using a soundcard, all of this on a Windows 10 machine?

Am I ahead of myself?

That will be a absolutely amazing :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: I don’t know of any other VST which can do that…

If I understand correctly, it is possible to use an extra sound card for VCV Pro within a DAW with its own sound card?

Are there people who use 2 soundcards ? I’m on Windows and Bitwig 6

I use an Expert Sleepers ES9 with Bitwig and VCV Pro. The biggest difficulty is getting multiple audio channels from the ES9 into one VCV Pro plugin.

From anecdotal memory in the forum I think the answer is: In theory yes, for some yes, for some no. I don’t think multiple audio modules in a patch ever became rock solid across the board, so I think the best you can do is: Try it!

Yes, but not using ASIO if you are on Windows.

Thanks for the answers.

It just occurred to me that I can actually make a send in Bitwig with VCV Pro FX. Currently, I have bidirectional modulation (MIDI and CV) between VCV, Bitwig and harware (Es9).

I don’t have much experience with anything other than ASIO. I thought there were a number of disadvantages associated with it.
