Ouroboros Industries Releases

With its recent addition to the library, I’d like to announce my collection of modules, Ouroboros Industries.

It’s an odd little collection of random modules, initially created to add interaction sounds to VCV.

Modules
  • Meta adds “meta” features to VCV. Currently only sounds when plugging or unplugging cables, but more is planned.

  • Chroma manages and labels cable colours for you, with hotkeys to switch the colours and switchable banks of colours.

  • Bernoulli is a bank of eight bernoulli gates.

  • Median takes in three voltages, and sorts them into “layers”.

  • ST-VCA is a stereo version of the Fundamental VCA.

The modules come in three themes: Light, Dark and Black and Gold.

The current release is 2.1.2, available in the VCV library and on Github.
Issues may be reported on Github, or the development thread.

Great work on these modules, especially Bernoulli, been using that a lot.

It would be cool if there was option to randomize each columns of knobs individually. Sometimes I prefer to default the mode to Normal but randomize the other knobs.

MEDIAN will fit very well in my patches :sunglasses: thank you

I’ve added randomization options to Bernoulli’s right click menu in the develop branch, it’ll be available in a future release. Development builds are available here

Cool, looking forward to trying the new modules.

Version 2.1.2 is now live in the library. It fixes a crash affecting only some users.

Changelog:

  • Fixed a rare crash involving SVG rendering

Rack 2 Pro standalone 2.6.3 running on Win10 crashes on startup after applying this update.

The last entry in the VCV log.txt is [0.199 info src/plugin.cpp:167 loadPlugin] Loading plugin from D:/customizations/Rack2/plugins-win-x64/OuroborosModules

Other updates crash the browser display. This one is the only one that halts program load.

More new toolchain issues?

I can confirm a crash to desktop on Win11 Rack Pro 2.6.4 .

I got reports of Airwindows and TinyTricks also crashing windows users which were both released today. Looks like more toolchain problems indeed.

I’ve reported to support but you all should also with your crash logs and system details since I only have mac here so can’t get that info.

I first suspected Airwindows and deleted that plugin but it was Ouroboros

All the plugins released today CTD Rack on windows 10/11

Either by restarting Rack or trying to open the PM inside Rack.

These.

To clarify, I removed Ouroboros plugin and Rack started. I then applied the Airwindows update and that was successful and Rack does not crash now on Win11 and Rack Pro 2.6.4

Windows 11.

I had VCV Rack 2.6.3 installed and after today’s update, VCV Rack crashes on start. Removed Ouroboros and was able to start until I right clicked to bring up the module list and then it would crash to desktop.

I checked my log and log stopped on Ouroboros folder.

Just for S&G, I upgraded to 2.6.4 and same thing. Removed all the most recent update modules from VCV install folder and VCV immediately started up.

Pretty sure this will get sorted quickly…

Do you have tiny tricks?

Something clearly not right with last nights update though. We should let support know

Have you tried opening the PM (right-click) in VCV ?

Ah yes, mine does still crash when I bring up the module browser, so Airwindows may be a problem but it is Tiny Tricks which show the problem in the log file now.
