NYSTHI Simpliciter anticlick with reverse playback

At risk of creating a redundant thread (for example this one), I have a couple questions about removing clicks from slices with NYSTHI Simpliciter, and more generally how to set up a click-free chain for autosliced samples.

I’ve been playing with Simpliciter’s Slice Grid by Peak Mode and find that when playing back reordered slices the anticlick function works fine to eliminate clicks when played forward but not when play direction is reversed.

So my 2 questions are:

  1. Is this the expected function? And,
  2. If so, how can I set an envelope generator up with a very short attack that stays open for the length of the slice, then closes and reopens at the start of the next slice?

For #2, my attempts result in either an envelope staying open infinitely (and thus all slices and clicks are audible) or creating an artificially limited envelope that closes based on a defined length, not the length of the slice.

Hope that makes sense and thanks for any advice!
