MorphWorx Development thread

Release Development Build: v2.1.3 · vurt72/MorphWorx

Manuals: MorphWorx/README.md at main · vurt72/MorphWorx

Trigonomicon: Generative drum trigger sequencer for IDM, breakbeat, amen, and drill-inspired rhythms with mutation and probability-driven variation.

SlideWyrm: TB-303-inspired acid sequencer that generates pitch, gate, slide, and accent patterns.

Septagon: 7/4 polyrhythmic drum sequencer with phase-warped motion and independent density control per voice.

Minimalith: Compact PreenFM2-derived FM synth voice with patch loading and CV-driven modulation.

Amenolith: Multi-kit drum sample-player with layered hits (soft, medium hard), roll behavior, tuning and length shaping, and individual outputs. Comes with 10 Kits.

Phaseon1: Performance-focused 4-operator phase modulation synth with user wavetables, formant shaping, and expressive macro control.

Xenostasis: Self-evolving drone instrument that blends wavetable, bytebeat, and internal feedback into autonomous textures.

FerroKlast: Six-voice FM / Analog style (808/909 inspired) percussion synth for kicks, snares, metallic hats, and unstable industrial percussion. Has ducking, reverb.

FerroKlast MM: Streamlined MetaModule edition with a reduced voice set and tighter control surface.

Aetherion - Stereo hall reverb with lo-fi tape degradation, shimmer pitch shifting (octave + fifth), freeze, and swell envelope follower. Three character modes (Clean, Warm, Degrade).

Upcoming (90% done):

  • Glitch Please (port of Mystic Circuits IDUM)
  • Kinetrax (Inspired by Make Noise GTE)
  • XORnado (this is a port of ByteBeat generator Viznutcracker, Sweet but with far more options and additions)

I’m looking forward to check out some of them. Please don’t hesitate to post here in case a “nigthly release” is available on GitHub.

Some ducking delay back in the day always was hard for people like me. But in the end it’s a collective of effects that made my personal life worth it overall. The geese the ducks the swans it used to be grand.

Cool! Don’t have a Github for them yet, i think i will work on them for quite a bit more before doing that. I want them to be as good as possible. Amenolith still just have 1 bank (those takes time to create). I also have some other modules i want to add.. I will try doing a port of IDUM (Mystic Circuits), either a straight port or something of a rewrite. I also really want a good Byte Beat Generator for VCV, so maybe after those!

Voxglitch Byte Beat and Cella Bytebeat are pretty reliable. (Just saying…)

Yes the Voxglitch does work for Metamodule, but i am not a big fan of it, if I am being completely honest. It sounds nothing like my favorite, which is the one in Ornament and Crime, “Viznutcracker, sweet”. Tons of sweet spots in that one, not heard Voxglitch sound even remotely like it. I think viznut is based of the MI one, but improved over it. I am developing my plugins with Metamodule in mind for everything. I think there’s more to be done with byte beat generators too, that’s what i want to explore.

New demo of Phaseon, a mod matrix was added and a few other things

Another module added;

Xenostasis. Alien drone machine + glitchy IDM percussion module. Byte Beat /2-OP FM / Wavetable. More info in the video description. Rather crappy demo of the drums btw, other tables can do more metallic autechre-like percussion.

And yes, all faceplates will change to this more gritty style, though likely not as… slimy.

New version with some updates, especially for the reverb. The drum machine now also has a better and more versatile snare 2 which sounds more 808’ish.

Not added yet (still WIP): I made a new module, inspired by Make Noise GTE though with my own personal twists.

KINETRAX is a 8-zone motion analyzer for modular signals. It converts where a signal is and how it moves into gates, pulses, and CV. It is especially useful for turning simple modulation into rhythms, logic patterns, stepped control, and movement-sensitive events.

So in this demo its just Phaseon1 into Kinetrax, Kinetrax gate outs into Amenolith. Some gates and the CV out from Kinetrax goes to some of the various ins on Phaseon1.

Some changes from MN GTE I have added a CV out (it has a switch to select 3 kinds of CV out; Index for stepped zone position, Slew for a smoothed version of that position, Flux for a decaying activity envelope based on transitions. KINETRAX adds Span 2 and Warp, which means a second signal can bend the boundary crossings of the first one. That is the biggest functional expansion.

MN GTE is analog, i am not claiming mine is better in any way btw, i have not even used GTE i only researched the manual, watched an in-depth video of it.
