This is a chill relaxed stringed instrumental modular synthesizer patch for the VCV Rack very cool patch, One Voice Challenge, VCP-76. Plaits - Inharmonic String Modeling into Spectral Clouds.

Asynchronicity in Waves was heavily inspired by Lucid Rhythms, Hammer Waves, relaxing and calming ambient music. I used 8 offset tuned LFOs to generate the timing of the strings, and panned them across the stereo field. The resulting ever changing patters ebb and flow into and out of sync.

Looks like I used some LFO’s and sample & hold’s to generate the notes, no sequencer. Old school. haha!

Happy Friday! Euclidean rhythm drives two sample and holds reading from a summed network of three LFO sine waves to create the main melody in this spacey percussive ambient soundscape. This is a redo of a patch I made four years ago. I tweaked the original melody patch, slowed it down, changed the key, and added in some background sounds. Thanks to Lars for the idea! :metal::sunglasses::metal:

Happy Friday Rackheads! It’s a mellow jam where two stringed instruments trade and combine riffs. It’s basically two Palette oscillators in inharmonic string modeling mode. Three other instruments alternate voicing. Nimbus in spectral clouds mode adds in some background sounds. All of the melody notes and triggers are coming from Orange Line Dejavu. !

I have finally started to realize my robot synthesizer vision. This is just a teaser video as I learn the video editor and finish up the characters and set. I’m really enjoying the end results so far. I will incorporate simple animation and video trickery to add more interest. Let me know what you think?

Oh man, love that patch so far! Great use of Rings (or Elements?), through a phaser right? The video looks like it should be fun too, looking forward to it!

Hey buddy, it’s actually a patch I did a while back, Space Robot Jam, just set to video. The flanging sound was created using the VCV Delay module… I have been wanting to do this for a really long time. Finally my plan of world domination via Heavy Metal Space Robot Music is coming together. :slight_smile:

Here’s my original description of that patch. "Three space robots walked into a bar and started playing this. This is a slow but groovy rhythm using Palette, a clone of Mutable Instruments Plaits for the guitar voices. Vult Flame adds the Marshall stack character. VCV Delay and an LFO creates a killer reel flanging effect. Squinky Labs Seq++ provides the backing rhythm, and Vult Anima creates the lead gates and notes. Robot sounds created by Clouds in Pitch shifter / Time stretcher mode. "

Well howdy there internet people. I made my first stop motion video. It’s not perfect, but I had fun making it. I am already planning another one. Yippy… The Space Robot Band performing The Krell.

I made a video breaking down how my latest patch works. It’s a slow but rhythmic three piece space rock band, doing an original piece called Interplanetary Rock. I put a bit of work into it, as I learn this new video editing software. I hope it is helpful, or at least not terrible. Give it a look if you want to, or not, it’ll be alright.

Stop motion filming is done at 10 to 15 frames per second. So if I do 10 fps that means 10 pictures for every 1 second of video. To sync with music, 120 bpm = 500mS 1/4 notes, or 2 second bars. To sync a guitar players strum arm to play one quarter note requires repeating a 5 position pattern, 10 positions for half notes. Moving the legs is another level of complexity, as is moving the camera. ā€œYou should do stop motion filmingā€ they said. ā€œIt would be funā€ they said. ! :slight_smile: haha! It actually is. Sigh…
