Adding to an older thread, but thought this to be a nice module if the S&H is meant for random number generation.
MAELSTROM by Dark Process Industries can generate random voltages in a predefined range. Min and Max can be selected independently between -10V and +10V.
The module seems to generate random values with fairly even distribution (Testing distribution of random note generators - #18 by Alphagem-O).
