WinComp (Venom) offers a tolerance range parameter for its comparisons. Therefore, input values can be windowed, i.e. compared to a reference range rather than an exact value.
Hence the following variation of the tool can be used to stratify values into “bins” with defined mean value and width.
In the example below, values from a random value generator (MAELSTROM by Dark Process Industries) were generated between 0V and 1.6V and placed into 16 different bins at a distance of means of 0.1V, a minimum mean of 0.05V and a bin width (Tolerance offset in WinComp) of +/- 0.04999V.
Reference values were set in FixedVoltageSource (NYSTHI), and can be chosen freely.
MAELSTROM yielded an even distribution in every range tested.
