The A-124 Self Oscillating resonance mod is now available for download from the VCV Rack page, and here is the video on it showing the software and hardware mod side by side:
Hi Andrew, Just wanted to say that your A-124 module is just truly amazing! Best analog filter emulation in VCV Rack at the moment in my opinion, and the resonance boost mod is super nice, makes it scream like a beast! Looking forward to see more modules from the VCV/Cytomic/Doepfer collaboration! Cheers Vinz
Thanks Vinz I look forward to doing more modules as well, but the rate of development will be dictated by demand, so please help spread the word about the A-124!
The A-124 Wasp filter is INCREDIBLE!!! Iâd really love to have some Doepfer oscillators for my patches. Throwing my vote in with the A-110-6.
The A-110-6 is definitely on the shortlist, as is the disappointingly named, but great sounding A-110-2 âBasicâ VCO, as this has a sawtooth core, which is my favourite for pwm, and also a triangle that isnât prefect and has a reset jump, which I also like to add some character for subtractive synthesis. I think calling it the âSolidâ VCO of âFullâ VCO would have been better, since it has linear FM, exponential FM, pulse width modulation, soft sync, and hard sync, which to me is pretty damn full featured.
(edit: the A-110-1 âStandardâ VCO doesnât have linear FM and doesnât have soft sync input, so this is to me more basic than the âBasicâ VCO!)
+1 for the A-110-2 Basic VCO
Hearing these demos just solidified my money on the A-188-1x whenever that happens !
Hi there,
is it possible to let the VCV-WASP from Doepfer run in Self-Oscillation-Mode?
Thanks 4 answers.
Cheers CDRowell
Yes - the latest update added this feature.
You need to turn on âBoost resonanceâ in the moduleâs right-click menu
The original A-124 Wasp filter does not self oscillate.
I have designed a custom mod for the circuit to allow for self oscillation, but like the mod on the hardware, it isnât smooth in operation. When you right click on the module and select both the âBoost resonanceâ mod and the âHigh detail modeâ you will get self oscillation at frequencies from roughly 40hz to 8000hz.
The resonance is strongest when the feq knob is from 250hz to 2000hz, which causes the self oscillation peak frequency to be from 100hz to 1000hz due to the non-linear behaviour of the circuit, so donât expect to play exact pitches with this sort of self osc. This is just what the hardware does, and has loads of character, but it isnât a precise thing.
I love the SOR @ the Hardware. The modul is 10Ăź% more worth in design emotional moods than without. With this feature: its mine!
Thank you much and remember:
making music is to be quiet too

Not sure if still looking for Doepfer modules to clone, but just watched someone demoing the A126-2 Frequency Shifter and that looks a fantastically useful module for things like creating the âdropâ in a dance track to sub bass and back again.
Iâd like to cast my vote for Doepfer clones of A-111-5 /or 6 : because who doesnât love a mini voice and this one sounds great
A-106-6 Matrix 12 / Xpander filter : Nuff said
I know of two (free) frequency shifters in VCV. My âBooty Shifterâ was my first module, for VCV 0.6. Eventually Surge came out with a frequency shifter, too. So there are at least those two. Have you tried either of those?
Yep - thatâs the one Iâd love to see too.
Not the same, of course, but my Stairway filter copies some things from the matrix 12 filter.
Its awesome - I wish Cytomic could do Mutable Instruments Blades as well!
Hi there,
So itâs been a couple of months since the first âofficialâ Doepfer module for VCV Rack was released.
Any chance to see others Doepfer modules ported to VCV Rack in collaboration with Cytomic in the near future?
A-124 Wasp Filter is so good iâd love to see other modules developed by Andy for VCV.
Fingers crossed!
Cheers Vinz
100% this
Why isnât it listed as a Hardware Clone under the tags in the Library?
I just made a list and there are almost 30 brands. Of course Doepfer should be there as well!
