Al's Rack Patches

That really sounds great Al! Love the sequences & how you bounce back n forth between Energy & FM-OP.

Ambient patch driven by Galaxy - soft swelling chords and rich ambient harmonics, a gentle, soothing rich meditative patch best listened to in a mellow atmosphere of peace with a large glass of wine. I could listen to this stuff all night - and often do

Digging these long reverb tails. Super relaxing…

Night Train to Vosm This patch uses Dieter Stubler’s chained Quantum chord progression technique, The fabulous XFX wave wobbly bass line with FM modulation from Branes. 3 Micromap modules playing with FM-OP’s feedback and decay settings, Background chord section from a pair of Squinky Saws and a Vult Basal, saws playing through Rampage slow envelope. Macro Osc on VOSM mode with Timbre jumping about via Branes output. One FM-OP, feeding from attenuated random Branes output, and ML-quantised triggers through the Bernoulli gate to add a little randomness to the sequence. Count Modular trigger sequencer into Autodafe’s drum units. Hope you enjoy. patch below, just delete the txt suffix

Lovely soundscape there Al! Has the scent of Vangelis, I like it.

Wonderful Al! Fantastic bass from the Wave there, and great sequence and rhythm overall. Very enjoyable!

Short sequence showcasing the Chordseq from RJ Modules and Stoermelder’s 8face. Fab modules to create song sequences - just dial in the chord sequence into the sequencer and link in some VCO’s or use the polyphony facility in VCV Rack 1 for instant chord progressions.

Stoermelders clever little module lets you save 8 configurations of whatever module it sits next to, to store and play a song arrangement. So clever, simple ideas are often the hardest to implement but the Stoermelder modules are real game changers for vcv rack compositions. Voices provided by Vult’s Basal and Bleak, Squinky Saws, Bogaudio’s indispensable FM-op and of course Audible instruments Macro Oscillator.

Wow, impressive arrangement and execution Al! Yeah, that Stoermelder sure has his game face on and 8face looks really interesting, will have to play with that. Nice one!

A short ambient piece using 6 macro oscillators, 2 resonators and loads of lush Plateau reverb. The vowel timbres modulating in and out of each other give what sounded to me a sort of zen-like temple chant atmosphere, just needing a gentle wash of flute or pipes blowing in and out (Caudal + S&H into quantiser) to capture the mood. XFX Wave does, as usual, a cracking job of adding a big thick bass drone.

That’s awesome!

Hi Al
what happened at 4:18… CPU overload, intentional, glitch during upload to youtube ?
Liked the rest,

thanks and yes sorry, some background process on the mac made the sound go all glitchy for a short while while I was doing the screen record. :frowning:

Dinner with the Dentrassi VCV Rack patch, the answer to life, the multiverse and modular synthesis. What can I say? Lots of happening stuff in it, there’s modulated bass pulses, attacking sequencer sequences, rampage envelopes and lots of delay and reverb and stuff. And pretty unique to my patches, it features not a single FM-op. I forced myself to come up with one composition not FM-op-based. Its tough but I think I got away with it. Now where did I leave my towel?

Patch here for those brave enough to travel on the Vogon freighter:
