I found this documentary on very early electronic music pioneer Delia Derbyshire incredibly inspiring:

One of the things I found most poignant was seeing industry greats say what a shame it is that she missed the renaissance of modern synthesizers over the last few years.

Delia hated syntheizers. She was the queen, or even empress of tape manipulation.

An Interview with Eliane Radigue

Éliane Radigue is a French composer. She began working in the 1950s and her first compositions were presented in the late 1960s. Until 2000 her work was almost exclusively created with the ARP 2500 modular synthesizer and tape. Since 2001 she has composed mainly for acoustic instruments. Born: Paris - January 24, 1932 (age 93 years)
