Enchufada label founder Branko is to release 14-track compilation, ‘Enchufada Na Zona’ — a natural extension of his NTS radio show of the same name.
Roughly translated from Portuguese, Na Zona means something like being in a specific place, occupying a zone and owning it — a fitting metaphor for Branko’s career as a DJ and producer exploring the global side of club music.
I’d have to pick nits. I do think he’s had a number of particularly weak pieces that nonetheless got famous. On the other hand, he’s also done some very good work as well. (Methinks the word is “uneven,” but that applies to most artists.)
Tangerine Dream were already contracted to produce music for Street Hawk and were unavailable when Michael Mann was producing Miami Vice. TD had worked for Mann on soundtracks for Thief and The Keep.
