Oldie but a goldie
another oldie but goodie. Beware, the volume at just before 3 minutes is supposed to be low, after that it reaches peak volume. So be warned, do not adjust your normal listening volume.
A damn near perfectly crafted track.Never heard before, but was struck by the way it just keeps surprising sonically
Ah, Ken Ishii Jelly Tones, from the mighty mid-nineties. Sure brings back memories. I think I posted Ken Ishii as Rising Sun - Haze (blind mix) some years ago. But hey, it deserves another listen. And I’ll add Ocean View (from the same album: Green Times, 1995). Both had already appeared on the first of the legendary Crammed Disc Freezone compilation albums in 1994.

Oldie but goodie, turn up on a decent system/headphones:
Saw them live 1997 with a full Djembe/Conga line and dancers, quite the spectacle indeed
I like his early stuff
Yeah, good stuff! I had some earworm from nowhere the other day, from an old mixtape (gypsy - “Skinny Bumblebee”), that made me look into early 90ies electronica that isn’t too gauche and clumsy for my 2026 ears, and this is what I was looking for.
Edit: might as well… ![]()
Just stumbled across this recording I never saw before. Sound at the start is a bit messy but settles nicely after a couple of minutes or so in. Well worth listening to in it’s entirety, great musicians all around.
Thanks for the flashback. I was really into John McLaughlin in the early 70s when I was in college.
Second live show I ever saw was The Talking Heads1979 in Freiburg in Breisgau, Germany. Still rates up there. This was recorded a bit later, but couldn’t find a recording of that gig I went to..
