What are you listening to?

I don’t have great pitch, but so me it sounds like the lead vocals are in tune. although the harmony of everything is pretty complex (hard to tell for me). But the backing vocals do (to me) sound out of tune.

When they harmonize the “I Remembeeeeeeeerr” part, it sounds like they form a chord I once played by accidentality sitting on my keyboard.

Bloody marvellous!!! Some of my patches sound like this when I use samples to get the same tinny Casio sound, well done you lovely clowns!!

I am currently obsessed with this sound at present

23 Skidoo - Gregouka (live@The Haçienda, 29 May 1982) - YouTube

That might be the case. There are a number of tracks with Genevieve singing solo, and she’s pretty spot on. That being said, some of the harmonies in this piece are indeed challenging.

I politely but rather strongly disagree. Saint-Saëns’ Symphony isn’t even an organ piece. It’s a symphony  with a tiny and rather boring part for the organ. Compare that to, for instance, the power in César Franck’s Pièce Héroïque or the fun in Poulenc’s Concerto for Organ, Strings and Tympani. And don’t get me started talking about Messiaen… Rock and roll to the max.

Someone brought up steel drums in another thread and it reminded me of seeing probably the most unexpected Joy Division cover I’m ever likely to see

Hello it was me, who brought up the synthesis of steel drums. Any ideas, don’t want to highjack the thread but!!! Love the idea of a Joy Division cover on steel drums.

Thank You for sharing

Besides electronic music, playing guitar is my great passion. And this one plays his instrument very virtuosic.

Have You seen this player ?

First guy I remember seeing do the double hand tap thing was Stanley Jordan on a live music show we had called The Tube. Very impressive.

It looks like you have to wear some kind of headgear to work those dotted 8 delays :

Gotcha :sunglasses:

Somewhere on Youtube you can also find his workshop, how Ewan Dobson adjusted his delay(s) for ‘Time 2’ until they fit.

Btw (and off topic) with his guitar playing he compensates as good as he can, his mental/spiritual Handycab. I don’t remember what it was/is.
