you are challenged to make a patch in vcv rack to showcase a particular module in a creative way, so other users may get inspired. you can also win eternal fame!

since today is the first day of the chinese year of the pig, i would like to do a special challenge this time using a field recording sample:

this sample is freely available under a cc attribution license, so make sure to mention itsadequate as source of the sample

you can use this in a sampler module and reprocess this as you see fit. if you play on hard mode, than use this sample as only sound source.

if you prefer to play on regular mode and use other sound sources in addition, that is fine too. whatever inspires you!

== rules ==

  • make a patch in vcv rack using the chosen module and upload your patch to https://patchstorage.com/
  • tag your upload with vcp-25
  • you are encouraged to only use free modules in the patch, but this is not required
  • make a video showcasing your patch and upload it to youtube
  • add a link to your video as a comment to this post (these videos will be collected in a playlist)
  • give feedback on other participants’ patches

deadline: monday end of the day, wherever you are, february 18th

(though late entries will still be added to the playlist)

a new challenge with a different module will be announced every other tuesday.

yay, my contribution for vcp-25, Piggz - jamaujambon I first chopped the sample and did some boosting in Adobe Soundbooth, and then sequenced with Impromptu Gate-Seq-64 and Nysthi Confusing and Quad Simplers. Bidoo’s Emile adds some modulation, i think? happy lunar new year ! https://youtu.be/frDnPI-lba8

My first public patch and entry to VCP: https://patchstorage.com/pigs/

This basically runs the sample through Audible Instruments’ Resonator while also mangling it with Frozen Wasteland’s Portland Weather – Novation Launch used to control all sorts of modulation. Press Run on Clocked to get these going.

here is my contribution for the VCP-25
I used the pig sample for all percussive sounds and it
drives leakage for the S&H for the melodic parts
