The DAW is the master clock, in this case Ableton.
I’m a bit confused by this - if you are using an audio clock pulse out of your audio interface to sync, then you are not using midi so there can’t be any midi jitter. Are you sending the clock pulse at 24ppqn? What are you using to generate the pulse?
I’ve found midi sync to be pretty stable in Rack Pro VST
