VCV Rack 1.x.x won't open and crashes on MacOS 10.7.3

Hello all,

NOTE: I write this post because in the download page says that v1.x.x is “still” compatible with 10.7+

Well, i had to downgrade one of my Macs to MacOS 10.7.3, because i have a wonderful M-Audio Firewire Solo that works like a charm, that i can’t not use with newer systems just because M-Audio stoped upgrading the driver at MacOS 10.7.4 (I really hate Apple polices! :rage:), and i don’t want to buy a new audio interface having one already that works just fine.

Anyway, this post is to say that i can’t run VCV Rack 1.x.x (even not the latest 1.1.2) in this system because it crashes right after i click it’s icon to make it run.

Here’s the relevant part of “log.txt”

Any help will be appreciated! … Thanks!!!

Are you running it from your Downloads folder? Have you tried moving it to your Applications folder?

Hi Guys! New to VCV and I’m having the same issue on a Mac Mini OS 10.10.1

Downloaded and installed in Applications folder. Any help would be awesome!

Thanks in advance!

Best

Just found one possible solution to this. Rack must be run from its folder /Rack by default, and on my system, this folder was in /Documents. Once one places the Rack.app in the /Documents/Rack folder(for example), it should open fine, as I just discovered moments ago.

The documentation says something entirely different, (running from /Applications, like every other App, doesn’t work). Took like a couple weeks to finally figure this out. XxD

Take Care, and don’t give up, VCVrack is way too wonderful to pass up!
