Good day, folks!
This may have been addressed elsewhere, and I just have not found it, but I’m looking for answers to using VCV Rack (Pro) in a setup where I use hardware synths, a trusty Sony Walkman, and a no-input signal chain. Everything but the VCV Rack is routed into Logic Pro X.
My question: How do I ‘route’ VCV Rack into Logic Pro while using it as a performative live instrument? All my hardware is running into Logic Pro, and LPro is the output, save for VCV Rack.
Scenario:
- LPro Track 1: Make Noise 0 Coast – glitchy random noise and textural component
- LPro Track 2: Sony Walkman > Delay > Reverb playing a pre-recorded sequence
- LPro Track 3: EQD Hizumitas > Proco Rat (Filtering) > Reverb a steady but unpredictable textural component
VCV should ideally be track 4, where I run:
- ambient/evolving pads
- a Sine Sub frequency
- Lo Drone
- Mid drone
- Quantised Hi frequency sequence that is clocked by a Bernoulli gate or the Random module All these 5 tracks are fed into a Mind Meld mixer, send-return, et al. And the output I’d like to run into logic so it sits there with the 3 other main tracks.
Can someone help me with a guide that can help me understand the steps I’d need to take to get this going?
EDIT: the VCV Rack plug-in on Logic Pro (at least at my end) is quite shi*e. The workspace size is tiny; choosing modules is a pain because the hover is not accurate, adjusting knobs on modules is a pain, connecting cables is…forget it, a bigger pain.
Much appreciated, folk and a huge ‘thank you’ in advance
