This is a simple patch illustrating my Quad-Quad Algorithmic Rhythm melodic sequencer.
It’s all free modules, you’ll need the Stoermelder, VCV, and Impromptu plugins.
I’m presenting it like this to share because I’ve been fiddling with variations on this for a couple of weeks, and it’s my favorite generative sequencer now.
In this case, I’m using it to generate a sequence for a VCV synth voice.
The bonus application is this: You can load a VST drum plugin and choose the note values so they trigger drum sounds, and you have a Quad/Quad drum sequencer. Even simpler, 4 QARs can trigger 16 drum sounds in Rack.
The real inspiration for this was the old school mistake where you have drum patterns playing and accidentally send them the wrong midi channel and trigger a synth.
