I don’t know if this has been asked before, but is it possible to sync the Scope view to a certain tempo, maybe using a clock? I tried this, but it’s not working:
Changing the Threshold doesn’t make a difference.
Basically what I would like to do is for example to analyze a repetitive input such as kick’s envelope. Using the Time knob only shows me in ms, which is not ideal.
It does restart, but the screen itself is not synced, which is what I wanted to do. For example I did this on purpose where the Time knob is slightly off to show how 2 kicks are not aligned on the screen
For example I have the ShaperBox plugin that comes with an oscilloscope and it can be set to sync and so all kicks (in this case a four-on-the-floor pattern) is aligned to the grid:
I added that one and for a single hit, is good enough. Thanks for the suggestion.
Unfortunately for other scenarios, will not be ideal.
Check my previous reply for more context.
In my experience, if you want to provide an external trig for the VCV scope, it works best when it matches the frequency (or an exact multiple/division of the frequency) of the waveform that you want to view.
So a clock would be too slow for audio rate signals, you can test this out using an oscillator that has an end of cycle output, without the trig the waveform will move across the display, with the trig the waveform is locked in place and stable, then the time knob will control how many cycles of the waveform are displayed.
