Sorry for the tabloid headline. But I discovered (not the first I’m sure) that Nysthi Sussudio does a great job of phase music. Just set each of the ‘play heads’ to different loop ends so they’ll drift in and out of phase with each other.
It’s an underrated module! I haven’t done the phase thing, but use it a lot for thickening up samples and making textures. I find you can record the output from a patch, load into Sussudio and play it back at different octaves, with some of the playheads backwards, then randomly fade the dedicated outputs in and out, or run them through different filters/fx etc. It makes any basic sound into something more complex and constantly evolving.
