Summer leisure with BASTL Thyme emulation

Sending you all a summer greeting, with a small peek of something I am working on (and learning all kinds of fun stuff you can do with different delays)

It will be an emulation of the BASTL THYME, or at least its concept  Then I stumbled upon this happy patch and thought it would be a nice thing to share. The patch has some premium modules in it. I could see if I can make a more “free” version, but this will take some time. I want to finish this first. Have some “robots” to figure out…

Anyway, have a great summer and hope you all are doing well!

Is that Instant Delay in the bottom left? Amazing module! Have you tried running it with polyphony? Really bonkers. I haven’t found any free modules that can do the same thing, so unfortunately I think you’ll struggle to make a free version of the patch.

Yeah it is. It is really a one of a kind module in VCV. I did not find a substitute. So I will stick to it! Will try polyphony when I’m done. Thanks for the tip!

No problem, there are various ways of doing it but I normally use Bogaudio Polymult to copy a mono signal onto 16 poly channels. Then you just modulate the delay time with a poly mod source. For that I use Bogaudio Polycon, randomise it, set it to 16 channels then put that into the FM input of an LFO, or the speed input of Vult Caudal. This gives you different speeds of mod on each channel. You can also patch a filter or other effects into the send/return loop, like I did hear to make infinite screaming metallic feedback:

There’s a link to that patch in the video too if you, just patch a sampler or synth module into the Polymult if you don’t want to use live input. Have fun!

So happy someone is working on this. It’s also a reminder that I should invest into some premium modules and support these builders. Great work so far. Looking forward to see how it progresses.
