Just updated VCV Rack to the current version and now I’m getting an issue where I’m stuck in a crash loop.
Here’s what happens:
Start VCV Rack 2
Get an error message that says " VCV Rack crashed during the last session, possibly due to a buggy module in your patch. Clear your patch and start over?"
Say yes (or no)
Crash
I’m using a Mac (12.7.6). I tried to delete everything to do a clean re-install, but can’t seem to find anything on my HD. Any tips?
It’s in a hidden folder in Mac.
The easiest way to find it is to open VCV, go to the Help menu, and then select Open User Folder.
Seeing as that is not an option… navigate to your user folder and hit command period to make the hidden folders visible. Then you can navigate to Users>username>Library>ApplicationSupport>Rack2
Close Rack, and if you have Rack Pro, close all DAW’s too.
Rename the directory “/Users/YourUser/Library/Application Support/Rack2/autosave” to “/Users/YourUser/Library/Application Support/Rack2/autosave.BAD”.
Start Rack. If it asks you to clear the patch and start over say yes.
If it still crashes attach the file “/Users/YourUser/Library/Application Support/Rack2/log.txt” here and we’ll take a look, otherwise you’ll need to contact support on support@vcvrack.com
In the above you need to replace “YourUser” with what it actually is called on your disk.
