stoermelder's SIPO: How to use with less than 16 channels?

I have been playing around with the Serial Input Parallel Output (SIPO) module by stoermelder. How can I get this to work with less than 16 channels? If I connect this to VCV Viz I always see 16 channels, no matter how many polyphony channels my inputs (to SIPO) have.

Looks like the output is hardwired to 16 channels.

Lots of tools available to truncate that output and select a subset of channels. And maybe you need to make a feedback loop by (say you want 8 channels) by feeding ch9 into your input.

DocB s16, m16, Venom multi split etc.

If you only wish to use the first n channels then this may do what you want:
