Spatial in VCV Rack

G’day folks!

As the title suggests, are there any hints and workflows for creating a ‘spatial mix’? Now, I mostly run monophonic (no particular reason). Sources go into a mindmeld, plateau as a send and return, into a bassmaster and out into the great wide open. What modules would you suggest, where in this chain?

Thank you all

You could try this, which is free: (Haas effect uses a short delay to create stereo width if you haven’t heard of it before)

There is also VCV Sound Stage, which is a premium module that seems completely underrated. I almost don’t like mentioning this, because it’s a secret sauce for sound design.

I would use both of these as another send effect and probably not slap it across the entire mix, unless I’m specifically just making sound effects.

Hi VM sorry did you really try Sonus Dept module himself ? Why i ask because year ago i already wrote that it not works it seems:

Main Delay knob does nothing. (Or im do wrong something ?)

I noticed that also.

Maybe Airwindows has some interesting stereo FX:

I would also recommend experimenting with mid-side mixing:

Sorry hadn’t seen that, and I haven’t used it either - just saw it in the library.

Seconding Airwindows, specifically the one called Srsly2 – you just turn the space parameter up a tiny amount. Also, with the VCV M/S, sometimes all you have to do is run the mid to the mid and the side through a compressor and it will enhance whatever stereo image already exists.
