RTP Midi on Linux Ubuntu

Hello,

I would like to install RTP Midi on Linux Ubuntu. Which one would you suggest me? Thanks. Alain

I thought there was only one? → GitHub - davidmoreno/rtpmidid: RTP MIDI (AppleMIDI) daemon for Linux

Thank you! Its from this page I discovered there are two softs, and that’s where I got lost. But actually, I know pretty nothing about this environment (Linux, music, MIDI…)

So far, I have not been able to find my way to understand the interactions between these different softs, and especially to find an equivalent to RTP MIDI under Windows (graphical interface)…

Still working on… Alain

Microsoft is actively working on their MIDI 2.0-standard network MIDI. Looks like it will be ready for the release of the rest of the MIDI 2.,0 work, so will probably come at the same time.

RTP MIDI is a Windows driver, with a configuration UI. rtpMIDI | Tobias Erichsen. It does say Windows 7-10 (no mention of 11).

The repo links to two other projects, but this is the one I recommend.

Have used it regularly to connect all kinds of PCs of different OS together over the network.

The davidmoreno project is very good. Th one from mclarenlabs includes error detection and correction (called “The Journal”) which can help with stuck notes or missing notes.
