Random distribution in 'Sequential Switch 1 to 8' by ML

I am experimenting with the ‘Sequential Switch 1 to 8’ by ML and noticed that in random mode, the distribution of outputs is uneven.

The first and the last output always receives about half the triggers I would expect.

For example, with a setting of 8 steps, output 1 and 8 are lower (see pic). With 5 steps, 1 and 5 are lower.

Is this expected and can it be set to an even distribution?

You could use bog 1to8 together with a s&h to get a more even distribution :

Loved your setup so much I just had to try it.

EDIT I can not get this to work with less than 8 steps so this is not a good solution.

‘Switch 1-8’ by Count Modula also shows even distribution in random mode, as does Switch1-16.

Thanks for reporting this. I will have a look.

Yeah, you are right, I also found an even distribution with Bogaudio 1:8 only when using all 8 outputs.

Random Gates (Hetrick) is another random switch with a fairly even distribution. In the example, I’m using 5 gate channels and the polyphony of VCA (VCV) to merge the gates with CV values from Polycon8 (Bogaudio).

Just to let you know. I can confirm the issue, and the next version will fix it. I am currently checking whether there are any other issues to be addressed, before releasing.
