Is there a reason to use VST3 rack plugin over VST2? Or vice versa?

Looks like there are still a few problems with the VST3 and certain DAWS. I’d go for VST2 for now.

So weird, I’ve been considering asking the exact same question lately. So I did a bit of research, but not much.
What I’ve read online is that VST3s are generally more CPU efficient and allow more routing options, but I don’t know if this is the same with Rack. I’ll have to do some tests to know.
I use Studio One, and the VST3 does not allow multiple midi input channels, so I’ll stick with the VST2 for now. But I would also love to know if there are any benefits to using VST3.

Sadly, parameter saving is still not working in VST3. Not sure why, but it’s fine for AU, VST2, and Clap versions.
