Rack 2 Linux : menus under "file" not working

Hello everyone,

Since the update, I cannot use any menu under “File”, except for “Quit”. So I no longer can open or save a patch, nor save a template. When I click, nothing happens, there is no pop-up at all like in V1.

Does anybody had the same experience and found a solution ?

I’m on Linux Manjaro.

Did you uninstall the betas and any other previous V2 build as well as all the modules from before release? Then install and see what happens. If still problem post log.txt file from Rack2 user directory

Of course it goes without saying that there are many Linux users who have not had this issue.

I didn’t install any betas or previous V2 build. I directly switched from 1.1.6 to 2.

This is an example of the log.txt when I click on “New” :

[4.334 fatal adapters/standalone.cpp:60 fatalSignalHandler] Fatal signal 6 SIGABORTED. Stack trace: 9: /opt/VCV/Rack2Pro/Rack() [0x403d8f] 8: /usr/lib/libc.so.6(+0x3cda0) [0x7f1da455cda0] 7: /usr/lib/libc.so.6(gsignal+0x142) [0x7f1da455cd22] 6: /usr/lib/libc.so.6(abort+0x116) [0x7f1da4546862] 5: ./libRack.so(+0x28c542) [0x7f1da4ae2542] 4: ./libRack.so(_ZN10__cxxabiv111__terminateEPFvvE+0x6) [0x7f1da500a2d6] 3: ./libRack.so(+0x7b4341) [0x7f1da500a341] 2: ./libRack.so(+0x2f07fd) [0x7f1da4b467fd] 1: /usr/lib/libc.so.6(__cxa_finalize+0xce) [0x7f1da455fa8e] 0: ./libRack.so(+0x297733) [0x7f1da4aed733]

no clue, submit via the support link on vcvrack.com perhaps?

Did you check if there is no dialog window (like save or save as) hidden behind the main window (specially if you are full screen) ?

Yes I did, I always had to do this on 1.1.6. However, there is no dialog window on V2 at all.

This is the log I get just after clicking on “Save as” :

[23.128 info src/patch.cpp:104 save] Saving patch .vcv [23.128 info src/patch.cpp:221 saveAutosave] Saving autosave /tmp/rack-autosave-g5nR/patch.json [23.129 info src/patch.cpp:119 save] Archived patch in 0.000608 seconds

It saves a patch “.vcv” without asking me where.

I think he doesn’t know about other’s experience on the subject… :wink:

I’m sorry it is far beyond my skills… Did you try the 2.0.2 ? Perhaps delete the working directory of Rack2 and restart from scratch ?
