Hello,
I have difficulties to use this module. Do you have some documentation about it (more than the on line one)?
Thank you. Alain

Did you read the Progress documentation ?
I think it will get you started.
Of course yes! ![]()
May be I don’t understand something, or my English… I didn’t find examples too…
Here is an example ![]()
Get Daft 29102026.vcv (5.9 KB)
If it’s the MODE-MODE your having troubles with, I can’t help you there… ![]()
But I think you select by scale degree like this :
Example
Get Daft 29102026 2.vcv (6.6 KB)
Hello. If you are interested in a chord sequencer, I might suggest trying the K-Arp module. Despite what its name might imply, it allows you to sequence chord progressions and, if desired, layer arpeggios on top. If you combine it with the K-Scene module, you can store up to 16 chord sequences (with each sequence containing up to 16 chords)—see the KALLISTE plugin.
As far as I can tell, there is no manual or documentation for the Progress2 module. Right? If there is one, I would be interested in seeing it also.
super useful module. i like it.![]()

Is there a manual or documentation for K-ARP?
It is easy to get into an endless debate at to what constitutes an adequate manual, as this is a subjective question and answer. So, I won’t go there.
Tried to play with this but it has a fatal flaw, there is no Clock Input.so this thing is supposed to be the master clock, and that is not OK in my book. ![]()
Why ?
Because working with a clock that can do more than just send clock out 4/4 bpm, gives me freedom to use swing multiply/divide bpm from a solid clock. In stead of using all sorts of dividers/multipliers. I start with a solid clock and I know my patch works, and I can sync all kind of sequencers arps etc. You already have a run and reset why no Clock In?

Thanks for clarifying. I understand your point, and I agree that being able to synchronize K-ARP with an external master clock would be a valuable addition, especially for patches using swing, clock division or multiplication.
The reason K-ARP currently uses an internal clock is related to its timing architecture: the BPM determines the duration of each chord, and the arpeggio steps are subdivisions of that duration. Supporting an external clock therefore involves more than simply adding an input jack, particularly when the incoming clock can vary in timing.
That said, external clock synchronization is now one of the improvements I’m seriously considering for a future version. I’ve started reviewing the timing engine to explore possible solutions, while preserving K-ARP’s current musical behavior.
Thanks again for the feedback : it’s helpful to understand how you would like to use K-ARP in your patches !
One option is to have a clock input and a BPM input. My Meander module works that way. It can be run standalone without a clock but its real power comes from being able to accept an x8 clock and BPM from Impromptu CLOCKED, for example. It is a relatively complex problem however, as you mention. Meander is in the same family of functionality as your K-ARP module. Meander generates chord harmonic progressions, melody with arp and bass, all derived from the harmony part and the current musical scale as mode and root.
Thanks for this very interesting suggestion!
Using separate CLOCK and BPM inputs could indeed be a promising approach for K-ARP, since its current timing engine relies on BPM to determine chord duration and arpeggio subdivisions.
I wasn’t familiar with the way Meander handles external synchronization, so I’ll definitely take a closer look at your implementation. It’s particularly interesting to hear from someone who has already dealt with similar timing and harmonic sequencing challenges.
I’m still exploring the possible approaches before making any design decisions, but this is certainly a valuable reference.
Thanks again for sharing your experience!
I just thought of another reason, you could (easily) sync 2 or 3 K-ARPs. ![]()
Hi! I took a break from VCV Rack for a while, and I’m really happy to be back and to read your posts again! It’s great to be back in this community.
Thanks for your patch; it works exactly as I expected now.
I had simply misunderstood how to use it. However, I haven’t been able to reproduce the issue I had. Here it is:
1/ Setting the module with 4 chords in 4 steps.
2/ Clock input connected to the sequence.
3/ Step 1: I got chord #1 on the output.
4/ Step 2: I got chords #1 and #2 on the output!
5/ Step 3: The first 3 chords, all mixed together.
Very strange behaviour…
Alain
