Porting Squinky Labs to v2

yeah, super busy here. I did try out that bug with ev3. for me it locked up on the first try. Of course I hardly ever try out those “random” functions.

Yes, same here. Sometimes crashes at first try, sometimes more than 10. I will have a more detailed look later on.

Please test this update and let me know if the problem is fixed. It does for me, but that doesn’t mean anything as we know…

Release This should solve the crash for EV3 · kockie69/SquinkyVCV-main (github.com)

Closed GitHub issue as fix is good here. Can reopen if someone else still has the problem.

I’m running into a problem with Stairway. The right channel doesn’t seem to want to output a poly signal. It’s silent and you can see that the cable is skinny coming out of that port. The left channel allows the poly signal through just fine. I’m on a Mac with Rack 2.0.1.

Best to log it with the guy who actually works on those plugins. I don’t any more, and my GitHub repo will point you to the new one. Or look in the plug-in’s menu.

Oh, but now I remember. That’s intentional. It’s only supposed to be stereo or 16 poly. Not 32 poly. If it’s not in the manual, then my bad. Anyway, if you want more, log it with @robert.kock .

I will move this request from the old repo to mine and have a look at it. At the moment I was thinking I can make it a configuration option in the menu? Keep current behaviour as default to support all patches and give users the option to enable multi poly from the menu? Would that be a good idea?

Sounds like a good idea to me, thanks.

Ok, I have published a new version of Squinky Labs for testing purposes. Stairway has now a Polyphonic option in the menu (Stereo polyphonic) that will also make the right output polyphonic. If it is disabled it will behave as it did before. I will work on improving the performance, but this needs a bigger change and more testing from my side. Please send your findings by raising issues in github.

Release Release v2.1.3 - Rack version 2.0.0 · kockie69/SquinkyVCV-main (github.com)

Nice one Robert.

It is there. I remember being disappointed when I read it! In the “About stereo” section it reads - “Stereo and polyphony are mutually exclusive. Stereo mode deals with two monophonic channels, left and right. When used polyphonically there are up to 16 channels in the left input and output, and the right is inactive.”

That will be very nice if it works. When I read that the original did not support it, I assumed there was a code architecture issue that prevented development of that feature without major rework.

Well, hope it all works out. Originally it was just “I don’t want to make this thing have 32 filters in it. It’s not a very common feature of a poly module, is it? But if Robert put it in there, that sound good.

A new version of Squinky Labs modules is available from the library, v2.1.3. It has 3 updates:

-Seq++ was not loading previous session settings -Fixed bypass bug for COMPII -Implemented full polyphonic support for Stairway (Can be enabled from menu)

I hope this release is stable without major issues as I am less available for quick fixes due to personal circumstances.

As always, please raise issues or requests using the github issue tracker.

Profound gratitude ! I use the Squinky modules extensively, your work on the project is deeply appreciated here at Studio D.
